Total Weight Loss

Monday Mileage

As of today, I have 816 miles towards my goal of 1000 for the year.  I'm creeping up on it.  I appreciate the confidence that Sharon has that I will get to my goal.  It could happen.

Also, as of today, I have lost 1.4 lbs with P90X.  That represents a total loss since October 1 not for the week.  In fact, for the week I gained 0.4 lbs.  So, it is decision time for me.  Do I stop, since this doesn't seem to be working?  Or, do I keep my commitment to do this for 90 days?  This is my conundrum.  Am I recognizing that this isn't working for me, or am I giving up?

I'm fine working through the hard part to get to the goal.  I'm just not sure I'm on the path to the goal.  It is hard for me to believe that I'm on the wrong path because who doesn't lose weight when they workout for an hour or more every day, six days per week?  Me?

I have struggled with those thoughts all week.  I don't want to be a quitter, but I don't want to keep on doing something that isn't working.  That is just a waste of time that I could be using to get actual results.

Right now, since I don't have a Plan B, I'm going to keep on with P90X this week.  I know for myself, if I stop without having another plan in mind, I'll be back next week reporting much more than a 0.4 lb gain.  I'm going to use the week to first give the workouts and nutrition plan everything I've got, and second explore other options.

I have a benchmark in mind for my weight next week.  If I meet that goal, I'll stay on P90X, if not, I'll have Plan B ready.  I have an idea of what to try next, but I'm open to suggestions.  Lay them on me.

  1. I have no suggestions, but I am just at a total loss for you (no pun intended). WHAT IS GOING ON?! You aren't the only blog I'm following who is working their rear off and not getting results. You probably both think I'm nuts, because I know I mentioned it to the other person, too... Could it be possible you're not eating ENOUGH for the amount of exercising you are doing? I mean, if you are busting butt and not getting enough, your body may freak and go into a mode where it holds onto fat instead of releasing it. Other than that, I have no insight. It doesn't make sense at all. I'm sure you're disappointed to say the least. I do know that I saw results on those pics you posted. Crazy!

  2. Are you eating lots of veggies, proteins, a few fruits and a some healthy fats? Is your diet really dialed in, avoiding all trigger foods?

A trigger free diet helped me drop the weight most efficiently. I really struggled with weight loss when I was eating any trigger food and it was hard to loose consistently. Even more than exercise- food was at the root of every single stall. (think skinny cow ice cream, thin crust pizza, eating even healthy food out, cinnamon toast, cereal, waffles, biscotti, and microwave popcorn- all were problematic.)

I agree with Sharon, I think you can get your milage in, too. Rooting for you!!! I like what Staci is saying, maybe eat more, but dump out any sort of junk food that could be trouble.

Clean your scene! That's the theme. eh, I'm rhyming. Time to log off!! LOL.

    Good luck!! Karen P.

  3. mayhaps keep up the workouts but switch over toatkins induction for eatin for a couple of weeks, or try the fat fast to break through. if 6 days is too much cut back to 5 or simply do two days workin out and one off. i KNOW it's gonna happen for you hon! xoxoxo

  4. I hope you stick with it. I think you will see benefits long term. I did not lose a lot of weight with P90X but I gained alot of muscule mass and redistributed my weight. And long term more muscle means more calorie burn.
